Fair to say a mixed bag of results today. So Ladies first.
The Ladies 1s faced a tough tie this week. Kettering 1s proved too tough a nut to crack as they ran out 4v2 winners, consolations from Grace Evans and Di Farrell-Thomas
The Ladies 2s ran out 5v0 winners against March 1s, 2 each for Jess Malings and Sophie Robins and a single for Katie Barrett. Top of the league they remain. Probably should have lead with that.
The Ladies 3s continued their excellent start to the season with a 4v0 drubbing of Long Sutton 2s. Two from Vicky Benedikz and one each for Murron McCulloch and Zoë Bailey.
Onto the gents then.
The Men’s 1s ultimately lost 3v0 to Bury 2s/Culford, but the game could have turned out very differently, Newmarket struck the post twice at 0v0, but luck, injuries and age were not on their side.
The M2s were not at their best as they drew 1v1. Having taken an early lead through Mark Pears, Dereham only equalised through an unlucky deflection.
The M3s were always up against it against Sudbury 3s who had scored 34 goals in 5 games before today. So a 2v0 defeat was not a bad result.
