Welcome to Newmarket HC

Whether you are seasoned club member, someone who hasn’t picked up a stick for years or completely new to Hockey – Welcome to Newmarket Hockey Club!!

In the aftermath of Covid we are actively looking to recruit new members so please, please spread the word that Newmarket Hockey Club is offering free membership for new players this year to help encourage them to pick up a stick and come and have a go!

Alongside this and in recognition of the increasing financial pressures some might be experiencing we are shortly going to launch our Newmarket Hockey Club Access Fund which is designed to provide financial support for existing members who may face making the difficult choice to stop playing and indeed for those wishing to play for the first time but who are unable to afford the kit.  Whilst not exhaustive hopefully this initiative will make the difference and enable our hockey community to continue to be inclusive and open to all.  Applications for support should be sent to myself and will be handled discretely by a small subcommittee. This has very kindly been kick started by a donation from Adrian Atkinson who’s been an integral part of our club for many years, if you personally or indeed your place of work want to get involved and donate to this fund we would be extremely grateful!

With 3 Ladies and 3 Men’s teams along with a thriving junior hockey program we have opportunities for all to get involved in the coming season on the pitch, whether playing, coaching or umpiring.  If you want to get more involved in our club and do more than play or indeed find your playing days are over but still want to get involved please contact one of the committee members and ask about umpiring or coaching.  We are always in need!  Training kicks off in August for ladies, September for men’s and Juniors, check out the website for details.  Social mixed hockey continues with Pay & Play 7-8pm on Thursdays.

Off the pitch there will also be plenty going on too, with club socials pre, mid and at the end of season and for the Juniors there will be a number of family events.  If you want to get involved in helping to organise or have ideas for events please contact Jess Boyle or another member of the committee.  Otherwise I ask that you give social events your full support, get to know your club and those that are in it!  Help make Newmarket Hockey Club GREAT!

Thanks for getting involved in this Great club – enjoy the season!!
